Saginaw MI – Gee’Ques Wood Smoked Barbecue

Gee’Ques Wood Smoked Barbecue is opening in Old Town Saginaw this spring in May. The owner said people ask every day when Gee’Ques will be opening, and he and his wife look forward to offering their customers “wholesome food,” including some of their mothers’ recipes, quick service and a clean restaurant environment.

New York NY – Mr. Peng’s

One of Yorkville’s favorite noodle shops is planning a new restaurant concept a little further downtown. The owner is currently in the process of debuting a new restaurant concept called Mr. Peng’s. According to the owner, his team is aiming to open in April, but that timeframe is subject to change pending their approval for various licenses.

Memphis TN – The Garden BC

The Garden BC is set to open in late March in Memphis. The "BC" stands for brunch cafe. The Garden BC will serve classic brunch dishes, including pancakes, omelets, and eggs Benedict as well as a favorite from the Nashville restaurant — bananas foster pancakes.

A Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill restaurant is coming to Champaign. The developer who leases the space, said Smokey Bones is likely to open in the first quarter of next year. Smokey Bones is a full-service restaurant and bar. The menu includes appetizers, wings, barbecue platters, burgers, salads, ribs, steaks and desserts.

Jenkintown, PA – On The Right Track Cafe
On The Right Track Cafe has been a favorite Glenside breakfast and lunch spot for years, and a second location in Jenkintown is expected to open by mid-January. The building will continue to see improvements during its initial months after opening. Jenkintown’s menu will flexible during its early stages. Pre-order options will be available for each menu item that exists in the Glenside location.

Dallas, TX – Palmieri Cafe
Palmieri Cafe will open a location in Dallas in the coming weeks in a small, standalone building. Owner told The Dallas Morning News that the coffee shop is in the final stages of completion and will open before the end of December as soon as finishing touches are completed. The new cafe will have a few inside seats and a back patio with tables.

Queens, NY – Stiami
As the ball drops on New Years Eve, Stiami, a seafood & soul-food lounge located in Queens, will be hosting its official grand opening. The restaurant will feature a menu that is a fusion of Detroit flavors and Miami vibes. As it prepares for its opening, Stiami is excited to debut as the Astoria district’s first soul-food fusion bar.

Jasper, IN – Retro
The cool vibe, awesome decor, and wonderful new Mexican dishes about to be offered by Retro in Jasper may only be eclipsed by owner’s connection to creating it. The owner is well known in the area through his work as general manager for a couple of local Mexican eateries. Whereas his charm and wit simply season those restaurants. Drawing upon his rich heritage from Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico, as well as his love for art and authenticity – whether in food or relationships – Retro will bring something new as well as renewed to Jasper when it opens in January.

Milwaukee, WI – Hot Dish Pantry
Hot Dish Pantry – a maker of modern Midwestern comfort foods, is moving to Milwaukee. The owners, hope to open Hot Dish Pantry in Milwaukee as early as February. It would start with lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday, and it would add some favorite Midwestern blended cocktails, like brandy slush, and other alcoholic beverages in the following months, they said.

Broomfield CO – Sushi-Rama

Chef Jeff Osaka is set to open his fifth Sushi-Rama restaurant in Broomfield. The new 2,400-square-foot restaurant, at 8181 Arista Place, is slated to open in early December, Osaka said.

Birmingham AL – Scooter’s Coffee

A new coffee shop will be built in the former Pizza Hut location on U.S. 280. The current building will be demolished and will be a drive-through only. This Scooter’s Coffee location will be the company’s seventh location and the first in the Birmingham area. Franchisee operator Grady Ross said he hopes the location will be open in December, but no later than January 2023.

Atlanta GA – Mirko Pasta

A new location of Mirko Pasta will open early next year at Town Brookhaven, according to owner Mirko Di Giacomantonio. “We signed a lease two weeks ago, and we start construction in probably two weeks,” Di Giacomantonio said in a phone call this week. The Italian restaurant will take about 3,000 square feet at the mixed-use project on Peachtree Road, which is anchored by Costco, Publix and LA Fitness.

Dallas TX – Nuri Steakhouse

Dallas-based restaurateur and Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim is opening Nuri Steakhouse, a concept that will serve Asian-inspired brunch and dinners. He announced the news in a press release. But the restaurant, which is set to open next summer, has been testing out its food in a sneaky way.

Boomtown NV – Verdi Grill House and Casino

Verdi residents soon will have a new local dining and gaming option. The handful of businesses located on Old Highway 40 have enjoyed an increased patronage from the influx of new Verdi residents, and the Verdi Grill House and Casino at Boomtown will be added to the mix in the first quarter of 2023. The 10,000-square-foot building constructed by BLC Builders will include a 2,000-square-foot restaurant and bar, as well as outdoor patio seating. The facility is owned and operated by Boomtown and will be geared toward locals, said Rob Medeiros, chief executive officer and general manager of Boomtown.

Winter Garden FL – Skyline Chili

The chili and hot dog chain Skyline Chili will soon open in Winter Garden, according to a recent filing with the State of Florida. The restaurant will be located at 2231 Western Way, next to a Firehouse Subs. For those unfamiliar with the brand, Franchisee Daniel Hunsucker explains to What Now Orlando, “Skyline Chili is most famous for two things: the Cheese Coneys and the Ways. A Cheese Coney is a hot dog with a steamed bun, mustard, onion, chili and shredded cheddar cheese. It is the perfect size that fits in your hand! The Ways are often what people describe when talking Cincinnati-style chili because they feature the unique combination of chili on top of spaghetti. Skyline serves the 3, 4, and 5-Way. The 3-Way is spaghetti noodles, topped with chili freshly grated cheddar cheese. A 4-Way is a 3-Way with beans or onions; a 5-Way is a 3-Way with both beans and onions!”
