Gulfportpatch.com - A Gopher Tortoise that was a repeat customer at the Gulfport Cafe was rescued by the owners and handed over to Howell's Angels Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rescue, which is making sure the little guy will be placed in a safe and more natural habitat. The Gopher Tortoise, a threatened species, somehow wandered on to the premises of Gulfport Cafe, at 5808 28th Ave. South. The owners and staff were delighted to see the reptile, which by the way is the State Tortoise of Florida. They gave it some leafy Romaine and banana slices, which prompted the Gopher Tortoise to return the next day for more. Continue |
