Coastal Curry

New South Indian restaurant specializing in Hyderabad Dum Biryani and dosas, also offering North Indian dishes. Under construction with a target launch date of August 15, 2026. Hours planned Monday-Thursday 11am-2:30pm and 4:30-10pm, Friday-Sunday 11am-10pm.

Breakfast Republic

Breakfast Republic, a brunch chain operated by parent company Rise & Shine Hospitality Group, plans to open a Highland Park location in late February or early March 2027. The chain already operates locations in Echo Park, Culver City, Orange County, and San Diego.

Alphabet Bar & Grill

Neighborhood-focused bar and grill created by The h.wood Group in partnership with James Beard Award-winning chef Tim Hollingsworth. Opening at Palisades Village as the shopping/dining destination reopens following January 2025 fire closures. Menu features rotisserie chicken, seasonal California-sourced dishes, all-day favorites, desserts, cocktails and wine. Interior designed by Alexa Nafisi-Movaghar of Adean Studios.

Taqueria Number 1

Taqueria Number 1 is relocating from East Independence Boulevard to 2801 Central Ave. in Plaza Midwood (former Deli St. space). Owner Rubén Granados Martinez is aiming for an early September opening. The move was prompted by outgrowing the current space and parking complications from a neighboring business’s renovations.

Olive Garden

Olive Garden opening on University Boulevard in Rexburg, ID. Construction superintendent Kevin Rambo confirmed a hard deadline of Nov. 2 for completion. The restaurant will seat up to 208 people and cost approximately $4 million to build. Kitchen equipment is currently being installed.

Knoops

Knoops, an international chocolate-focused cafe chain, is opening its first U.S. location in Salt Lake City’s 9th and 9th neighborhood. The cafe specializes in gourmet hot chocolate and other chocolate-based drinks. Opening weekend is Aug. 21-22, 6pm-midnight, with free small drinks. Taking over the former Spilt Milk storefront next to Vessel Kitchen.

Cabana Bar and Grill

Caribbean and American-inspired restaurant opening in the former Waterman’s Brewing location on Pavilion Place near Wrightsville Beach. Owned by former UNCW/NC State basketball coach Kevin Keatts and business partner Clayton Gsell, who also own Yosake, Tempo 33, and the Husk in downtown Wilmington.
