Chicken Salad Chick is one of eight tenants signed for Phase II of Bluhawk, a mixed-use development in Overland Park, KS (suburban Kansas City). The restaurant is anticipated to debut in summer 2027. Other food/beverage tenants in the same phase include Amorino, Everbowl, and Bruú Café.
Hawaiian Bros
Second Wichita Hawaiian Bros location near 37th North and Maize Road intersection, operated by Ohana Restaurant Group partners. Approximately 2,400 sq ft with traditional drive-through plus dedicated delivery service drive-through lane. Expected to open second week of August 2026. Group has 17 Hawaiian Bros sites total and is expanding into Oklahoma and Kentucky.
Kura Sushi
Kura Sushi, Japan’s second-largest revolving sushi chain with ~100 US locations, is opening a new location in Overland Park, KS at 12025 Metcalf Ave in a former Five Guys space. Opening date not yet confirmed. Features conveyor belt sushi, Bikkura Pon game, rolling robot waiters, and menu includes sushi rolls, ramen, and udon.
Danny’s Burger Shack
Danny’s Burger Shack, a burger chain with food truck origins (2021) and a Northland location since 2022, is opening a new location in a former bar space in Shawnee, KS. A ‘Coming Soon’ banner is displayed on the building. The restaurant offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, onion rings, fries and more.
Wingstop
Vibe Restaurants (Dallas-based franchisee) will open its 100th Wingstop location at 3000 N. Rock Road in Wichita, KS on July 8, 2026. This will be Wichita’s fifth Wingstop.
