600-room convention center hotel project worth $450 million, developed by The Sterling Group in partnership with Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority. Located just north of Huntington Place convention center. Will require demolishing full city block including Fort Washington Plaza building.
Huntington Place Convention Center Hotel
600-room hotel, possibly 25 stories in height, would connect to Huntington Place convention center. Hotel brand yet to be determined.

600-room, $450 million hotel being developed by The Sterling Group as part of Huntington Place convention center expansion. Construction to begin early 2027.
On Water Dining
New waterfront dining concept by chef Clint Frenette, featuring seafood and fresh ingredients sourced from Michigan farmers and fishermen. Located near Port Sanilac Boat Launch, will be the only restaurant on Cedar Street.
Grounds and Greens
Coffee shop and golf simulator combination, first of its kind in Howell. Will serve ice cream, coffees and teas. Golf simulator open to all ages with separate cafe area.
House of Umami
Third location of House of Umami ramen restaurant coming to Northville. Will feature house-made ramen, hand-cut chashu, large kitchen and outdoor patio. Construction is ongoing with no set opening date.
Simply Roasted Cafe
Coffee cafe concept opening in a former therapy center space. Construction is underway with bar tops being installed. Menu will feature lattes and espresso drinks. Located across from The Spot ice cream shop.
Saroki’s Crispy Chicken & Pizza
Local chain opening first Detroit location inside Griswold Market & Spirits in downtown’s Security Trust Building. First location not inside a gas station. Offers fried chicken and New York-style pizzas with carryout and delivery.
Tin Tusks Taqueria
New taqueria serving bold, fast and flavor-packed takeout including tacos, burrito bowls, housemade salsas and quesadillas. Will serve Elephant Ears instead of churros. Built from ground up in downtown Howell’s Elephant Alley.
The Mill at Zehnder Park
Four-suite boutique hotel in historic 1848 milling building on Cass River banks. Features suites with living areas, fireplaces, exposed beams, river views, and access to Landmark Lounge cocktail space. Located within Zehnder Park.
