Wonder, a NYC-based food hall/delivery-first concept offering dishes from 20+ virtual restaurant brands in a single kitchen, is planning a new location in Wellesley Square. Application has been filed but exact address not yet finalized. Plans call for an 18-seat dining area with primary focus on takeout and delivery. Expected to open sometime in 2027.

Husband-and-wife team Danny and Samantha Ryan are opening a wellness-focused nutrition club offering meal replacement shakes, energizing teas, protein coffee, and other nutritious beverages. Expected to open September 1, 2026, pending final inspections and permitting.

Pavement Coffeehouse

Pavement Coffeehouse has signed a 10-year lease to open its 10th Greater Boston location inside the Joyce Cummings Center at Tufts University, taking over the space previously occupied by Starbucks. Palestinian and Middle Eastern all-day cafe currently under construction in Jamaica Plain’s Hyde Square. Menu will include coffee, tea, pastries, falafel, hummus, shawarma, maqluba, and musakhan. Open from early morning until 9 p.m. Owned by Reverend Ashlee Wiest-Laird, pastor of First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. No official opening timeline announced yet.

Karma Asian Fusion

Karma Asian Fusion, an upscale Asian fusion/sushi chain with six existing Massachusetts locations, is expanding to Boston’s South End, taking over the former Oishii space at 1166 Washington St. Founded in 2006 by chef Iverson Guo, the restaurant offers sushi, specialty rolls, Asian comfort food, and craft cocktails. No official opening timeline has been announced.

Emari Roast Cafe
