Malibu Brewing Company is opening its second location in Agoura Hills, CA. Mayd and Butterfish (dual concept)

Two popular Fresno-area restaurants, Mayd (modern Mediterranean bowls) and Butterfish California Poke (Hawaiian poke bowls), are partnering to open a dual concept restaurant at Loma Vista Marketplace in Clovis. Both brands are owned by the same group behind Saizon and Heirloom restaurants. No official opening date has been announced.

Chick-fil-A South Salinas

New Chick-fil-A location opening August 13, 2026 at 6:30 a.m. in Salinas, CA. Owner-Operator Jordan Chroman’s second Salinas location. Will offer dine-in, drive-thru, third-party delivery, and mobile pick-up, Monday through Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Creating approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs.

Jersey Mike’s Subs

Jersey Mike’s Subs opening at Bethlehem Square shopping center in space previously occupied by GameStop. Franchise owner Gerritt Curran, who operates 22 locations, expects an October opening. Interior renovation work was ongoing as of article date.

Leo’s Coney Island

Michigan-based Leo’s Coney Island franchise opening first Midland location at 820 Joe Mann Blvd near Midland Mall, next to Lucky’s Steakhouse. Currently under construction. Will feature sit-down and drive-through services. Menu includes Greek cuisine, coney dogs, and traditional American diner fare. Opening delayed from summer 2026 to around Christmastime 2026.

Mexican-inspired restaurant and bar (name unknown)

A Mexican-inspired restaurant and bar is expected to open soon at the former site of Nami Modern Korean Steakhouse in the Butchertown neighborhood. The business name has not yet been revealed. The location previously housed a restaurant owned by celebrity chef Edward Lee.

Layne’s Chicken Fingers

Texas-based Layne’s Chicken Fingers is opening its second Ohio location at the former Taco Bell site on Boardman Poland Road. Owner Henry Wang and key operator Brian Borres of 3E Franchise LLC plan to hire approximately 60 people and engage with local schools and chamber operations.
