New 8,100 sq ft Texas Roadhouse location opening in Cypress (Houston area) with futuristic features including digital tablet kiosks and digital kitchen technology. Currently hiring 250 staff members.

Taco Bell

New Taco Bell location owned and operated by Pak Foods LLC, a Houston-based franchise group. Located across from Dennis the Menace Park. Ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration planned for May.

Buc-ee’s

74,000 square-foot Buc-ee’s travel center in San Marcos, Texas (32 miles south of Austin) with anticipated grand opening by July 2026. Will feature at least 128 gas pumps and provide 175 new jobs. Construction started January 2025 and is nearly finished.

Fine-dining vegetarian restaurant moving from E. Martin Luther King Boulevard to larger space in Tarrytown. Previously recognized as one of Austin’s best restaurants in 2024 and 2025.

Alteño Austin

Mexican restaurant from Colorado-based Fonda Fina Hospitality bringing familial culinary traditions from Jalisco. Located in 1 Hotel Austin. The Denver flagship has received praise from Michelin Guide, James Beard Foundation, and Esquire Magazine.

Himari

Second location of Japanese sushi restaurant Himari opening in former Bank of America building in Uptown Houston. $600,000 renovation project to transform 4,511-square-foot space.

Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders

Orlando-based chicken tender chain expanding to Texas with locations in Laredo (completion by October 2026), Harlingen (completion by end of 2026), North Dallas area, and Houston metroplex. Construction expected to begin April 2026 for Laredo location.

Circuit of the Americas Hotel and Convention Center

1,000-room hotel and 460,000-square-foot convention center adjacent to Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 track. $985 million investment by Rida Development Corporation. Would rank as Austin’s third-largest hotel. Project includes 170,000 square feet of rentable meeting space and is expected to create 900 permanent jobs.

RIDA COTA Hotel

Proposed 1,000-room hotel and conference center with 170,000 square feet of meeting space near Circuit of the Americas. Nearly $1 billion private investment project expected to support 900 permanent positions once operational.

MLK Boulevard Hotel

287-room hotel in north tower of twin-tower mixed-use development, part of project that includes condominiums and retail space. Development approved by Austin City Council.
