Jodi Jackson spent two years cooking at the restaurant — but she is still waiting for her final paycheck.

"I think it's immoral," Jodi Jackson, who spent two years working at Barducci's Italian Bistro in Winter Park, told WFTV. "I think it's cowardice."

The Winter Park restaurant's owner, Gregory Kennedy, gave no notice when he sent the Fourth of July surprise text telling more than 12 employees of the closure. They haven't even been paid their final checks, Jackson said.

Supreme Court says coupons are "Customer Contracts" Print
Wednesday, 10 July 2013 12:34

NJ.com - In a decision that could clear the way for a nationwide class-action lawsuit dealing with online gift certificates for restaurants, the state Supreme Court today said such online purchases are "written consumer contracts" subject to state law.

Two New Jersey residents — Larissa Shelton of Lindenwold and Gregory Bohus of Cherry Hill — sued Illinois-based Restaurant.com because they bought coupons for discount meals from 2007 to 2009 that included wording that they would expire after one year. Restaurant Trademark infringement suit being tried through social media! Print
Wednesday, 10 July 2013 12:31

KSL.com - Two restaurants are in the middle of a lawsuit for trademark infringement, and one company is taking its case to the public via social media.

Salt City Burger Co., a restaurant in Bountiful, is suing Saltair Burger Co., a food truck in Richfield, for the latter’s use of a similar name and trade dress. The company is asking Saltair Burger Co. to change its name and "vintage" aesthetic, which is "deceptively similar" to that of Salt City Burger Co., it claims.

The dining room of Salt City Burger Co., it claimed in the lawsuit, is “reminiscent of Salt Lake City in the 1800’s and early 1900’s era" and features photographic prints of the Saltair amusement park.

“The overall image and decor is an unusual, unique and integral part of the look and feel of Salt City Burger Co.,” the lawsuit stated. Continue

The restaurant where they keep the ribs next to the DUMPSTER Print
Tuesday, 09 July 2013 12:39

Dailymail.com -Appetites around the nation for Golden Corral's famed all-you-can-eat ribs may be spoiled after an employee posted a video online allegedly showing raw meat being stored next to a dumpster at a Florida franchise.

Disgusted by the hygiene practices at his Port Orange restaurant, Brandon Huber, 22, uploaded his shocking video onto YouTube on July 1st - sparking a corporate panic from the North Carolina firm that has led to the manager of the outlet being fired.

Inspired to share the video after watching an episode of Dr. Phil in which he advised his viewers to turn a problem into an opportunity, Huber's video of cooked food, raw ribs and hamburger patties left out in daylight during an inspection has led to tongue-in-cheek comparisons with NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden.
