Market Force just completed a consumer study of social media usage. Not surprisingly, every year we've looked at usage we've seen the numbers going up. About half say they 'like' to use social media. Fifteen percent say they LOVE it.  But 7% think it's a necessary evil. Continue

Whether it's a cup or bowl, side or entree, 62 percent of consumers now order soup at least occasionally during restaurant visits, up from 43 percent just two years ago. Salads have also increased, 76 percent of consumers now occasionally purchase salad away from home compared to 66 percent.

"Healthy options and portion variety are driving factors in today's soup and salad menu positioning," says Technomic Director of Consumer Research Sara Monnette. Continue

Wendy’s Animal Welfare Council today announced two major improvements to its animal welfare standards to significantly improve the humane treatment of chickens and pigs.

“Wendy’s takes our role as a responsible corporate citizen very seriously, which includes the humane treatment of animals,” says Dennis Hecker, head of Wendy’s Animal Welfare Council and SVP of Quality Assurance. “For more than a decade, our council has set industry leading standards for animal welfare.” Continue
