Post-gazette - Two Indiana County men are in jail today, charged in connection with a restaurant robbery that was thwarted by some patrons.

State police at Indiana said Jeremia Fromme, 22, of Ernest, and Adam Wilson, 26, of Indiana are in the Indiana County Jail. Mr. Fromme is to be charged with robbery, theft, simple assault and conspiracy. Mr. Wilson will be charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.

Police said the incident began to unfold at 2:50 p.m. Saturday at King Buffet on Oakland Avenue in White, just outside the borough of Indiana.

Police said Mr. Fromme, accompanied by Mr. Wilson, entered the restaurant then placed a hand-written note on a counter, demanding money. When a 17-year-old employee hesitated, police said Mr. Fromme lifted his shirt, revealing an item that the employee believed was a gun. The employee turned over money to Mr. Fromme from the cash register.

As Mr. Fromme and Mr. Wilson attempted to leave the restaurant, they were tackled by patrons as well as the owners of the restaurant, police said.

When police arrived, the pair were taken to the barracks where police said they confessed.
