Ice cream franchise Baskin-Robbins said Wednesday that it is waiving the initial franchisee fee of $25,000 for veterans in Florida who qualify for franchise ownership.

For a limited time, the program is being offered to qualified veterans interested in purchasing Baskin-Robbins restaurants.

“As tens of thousands of service men and women return from deployment, expanded opportunities are needed to ensure veterans and their families can transition into the civilian economy,” said Bill Mitchell, chief brand officer for Baskin-Robbins who served in the U.S. Army.

Baskin-Robbins is seeking candidates to expand its footprint in Florida, California and other selected markets.

Candidates should possess a strong financial background with a minimum liquidity of $125,000 and a minimum net worth of $250,000.
