Seattle, WA – IL Nido When you’re a James Beard Award nominated Chef, attention is paid to your every move and Chef Mike Easton’s next is to open this casual-feel eatery in April at 2717 61st. Avenue SW. Fresh pastas will be made daily and the menu will follow the seasons, open for dinner five nights with brunch on the weekend.
Washington, DC – Reveler’s Hour Jill Tyler and the team behind “Tail Up Goat” will bring their next casual concept online this summer at 1777 Columbia Road, NW. Chef Jon Sybert will helm the kitchen where the menu will include an expanded menu of pastas, vegetable entrees, wood-fired items and be on the lookout for “burger night!”
St. Cloud, MN – Brick & Bourbon Craft Bar & Eatery Plans to open this casual eatery and watering hole have been on hold due to the success of their two other area locations but expect the doors to open around early summer at 119 5th. Avenue South. The menu will be craft American fare in a casual setting with upscale, craft cocktails and full bar service.
Cambridge, MA – Lily P’s Diners seeking an interesting menu mix should look for the spring opening of this eatery to be located at 50 Binney Street. Chef Chris Parsons will oversee the kitchen and menu that spans the spectrum from fried chicken to fresh oysters in a 200 seat setting with patio, open kitchen and full service bar.
Baton Rouge, LA – Red Stick Social It appears another casual concept is on the rise with the word “social” in its’ name and that’s their focus to bring people together when this version opens at 1509 Government Street this spring. The venue will cater to gatherings, meetings, those seeking live music with full bar, all three meals and Sunday brunch!
Phoenix, AZ – Thirsty Lion Gastropub This casual-theme concept will expand its’ Arizona footprint to four units with their fall opening at 21001 North Tatum Blvd. Guests will see creative, signature craft cocktails such as Blood Orange Margarita and the Big Easy with an eclectic American craft menu offering Scotch Eggs and their Gastropub burger.

Los Angeles, CA – Alamo Drafthouse Construction delays can be a buzz-kill; however, the anticipated opening of this “eater-tainment” concept should be mid-2019 at 750 West 7th. Street. This combination taproom-restaurant-theater will feature a full service bar, over 20 draft beers, “adult” milkshakes, snacks, sandwiches, pizza and truffle popcorn.
Overland Park, KS – Evolve Juicery & Kitchen This Kansas City, MO-based “better for you” casual concept will open their fifteenth Midwest location mid-spring at 7201 West 80th. Street. Their menu features foods to support both the Paleo and Ketogenic diet format that focuses on a “better-for-you” style of eating supporting better choices that are delicious!
Kansas City, MO – Bar & Rec Okay, we’ll admit that we’re not too sure when and where the “Social Parlor” concept developed but operators are embracing it across the country as with this local version slated to open Memorial Day weekend at 1729 Grand Blvd. Look for a full bar, indoor volleyball, ping-pong and other yard games.
Denver, CO – American Grind This former food truck and pop-up concept will find a permanent home come April at 81 S. Pennsylvania Street. Born from a desire to provide locally-sourced, made-from-scratch foods the menu reflects the dedication of the partners to provide fresh, seasonal burgers, fries, salads, chili and scratch ice cream.

Baton Rouge, LA – 3Tails Wine and Cheese
Have you ever felt intimidated with picking out a wine for dinner or a gift, well sommelier Scott Higgins is your man to assist and educate you when this wine bar concept opens this spring at 516 Moore Street. Look for a selection of cheese and charcuterie for dine-in and a highly curated list of wines to enjoy.
Brooklyn, NY – Red Hook Tavern Barbecue is usually thought of at a southern food tradition but Billy Durney of Hometown Bar-B-Que has plans to expand with the opening of his next casual eatery at 329 Van Brunt Street in March. Featured on this menu will be a southern-style fried chicken and sides, a bistro-style burger, beer and natural wines.
Philadelphia, PA – Cicala The husband and wife team of Joe and Angela Cicala will open their upscale eatery within the revamped Divine Lorraine Hotel at 669 N. Broad Street sometime this summer. They will continue with the rustic southern Italian fare they are known for in an open kitchen format with Angela turning out the desserts.
Charleston, SC – Camellia’s Nestled inside the newly opened Hotel Bennett will be the first “Ladies Bar” to open in Charleston at 404 King Street across from Marion Square with an opening date that is still TBD. Boston, MA – Backlash Brewing Co. After using the “contract brewing” model to create and hone their brewing techniques the owners have finally gone all “brick and mortar” with a new brewery and taproom at 152 Hampden Street seeking an October opening. Guests may enjoy their craft beers along with any food they care to bring along.
Oconomowoc, WI – Twisted Fire Local restaurant veteran Dimitri Glavas, owner of Maxim, will open his latest casual eatery at 515 East Wisconsin Avenue with a hopeful October opening. While the menu is still under development he has shared that most of the food will be cooked over an open fire grill using locally sourced products.
Greenville, SC – Brass Monkey Bar & Grill Out of the ashes of Chiefs Wings & Firewater sprouts this dining and entertainment concept slated to open in late October at 723 Congaree Road. The new owners will offer a full liquor bar to complement the famous wings of the past all to be enjoyed by guests coming to enjoy a variety of musical groups.
Hershey, PA – Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant When it opens in November, on West Chocolate Avenue, this will be the 10th. Pennsylvania location of this Delaware-based chain. They will feature six signature beers and their 800 + barrel annual capacity will allow for 50 to 60 seasonal beers. At 70% complete the restaurant should open simultaneously.

Hoover, AL – Sneaky Pete’s The dining public enjoys their “tube steak” and this Birmingham-based quick-service eatery won’t disappoint at they open their 42nd. unit at Riverchase Galleria fall 2018. Known for their ever popular hot dogs their menu also boasts breakfast sandwiches, sausages, wraps, burgers, hoagies and many sides.
San Francisco, CA – Amara There is “re-branding” and then there is tearing it all down and starting new with the latter the goal of Michelin-Star Chef Mourad Lahlou and partner Louis Moldonado with the late 2018 opening of this upscale eatery at 5800 Geary Blvd. The menu will combine Moroccan and Mexican cuisines.
Milwaukee, WI – Global Fusion Owner and operator Steveinder Mavi plans to open this upscale-casual concept by January 1, 2019 at 777 North Van Buren Street. The property is under renovation but will offer a dining, full-service bar, musical entertainment and seasonal patio. While being developed the menu will offer a wide variety.
Memphis, TN – Taziki’s Mediterranean Café Much of the dining public might expect barbecue on the menu with a new restaurant but this fresh-casual concept will offer fare a tad more healthy with their winter opening at 7974 US-64. Seattle, WA – 85°C Bakery Café This Taiwan-based bakery café casual chain will open their fourth area unit at 409 Maynard Avenue late fall. Occidental and Oriental pastries will include apple pie and macarons complemented by sea salt iced coffee and Asian-style brioche buns filled with fruits and their “squid ink” bread roll with garlic and cheese.
Alexandria, VA – Urbano 116 The team that created the well-received Augie’s Mussel House will open their next casual concept at 116 King Street in the late fall. They have absconded with Chef Alam Mendez Florian of Mexico City’s Noma to helm the kitchen which will produce tortillas of freshly ground Oaxacan corn and traditional Moles.
Scottsdale, AZ – State 48 Brewing Company This will be just one of the two new breweries this company will open in the area with the 15600 N. Hayden Road location to open in November. A 20 barrel brewing system will provide the beverages while their kitchen will produce pizza, shared plates, sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees.
St. Louis Park, MN – Lucky Cricket The Funky Food Forger, Andrew Zimmern, will open this one-off casual concept late fall or early winter at 1621 West End Blvd. While the menu is under development a couple of items to look for include lacy pot stickers and saucy dumplings to complement the Tiki Bars’ Polynesian-masked slushy machines.
Ridgewood, NJ – Felina Restaurant and Bar Four-star award-winning Chef Anthony Bucco will open this dining destination eatery this November at 54 E. Ridgewood Avenue. Seating for 70 guests with two bars will balance a seasonal menu offering Berkshire sausage pizza with kale and roasted garlic and delicata squash stuffed gnocchi.
Las Vegas, NV – Lamaii Veteran of two award-winning and critically acclaimed restaurants owner, Bank Atchawaran, is planning a late November/early December opening of this casual, off-strip eatery on Spring Mountain Road. Detroit, MI – Marrow This fine-casual concept will combine the variety of a hands-on butcher shop with a restaurant with plans to open in October at 8044 Kercheval. The kitchen will be helmed by Chef Sara Welch who will create a menu from as many locally-sourced meat vendors as possible, owner Ping Ho will create the wine menu.
Cleveland, OH – 800° Woodfired Kitchen It appears passengers may suffer the indignities of air travel; however, while waiting for their delayed flight new restaurants will entertain them such as this casual eatery that features many of their menu items cooked in a wood-fired grill or oven, look for a winter opening at 5300 Riverside Drive.
Philadelphia, PA – Aether Owner Fia Berisha will realize a 20-year dream to open her dream restaurant with the support of Chef Scott Anderson at 1832 Frankford Avenue in early October. The menu will offer a variety such as lobster rolls, shrimp Po’boys, crab linguini, catch-of-the-day, vegetarian options all paired with affordable wines.
Houston, TX – Mama Ninfa’s Tacos y Tortas This local fast-casual favorite will open their next unit in the food hall “Understory” at 800 Capitol Street early in 2019. Roswell, GA – Fresco Cantine Grille The partners of this casual concept along with their Chef, Gabriel Salgado, saw a void in authentic Mexican cuisine and they plan to fill it at 10779 Alpharetta Highway with a late summer opening. A full service bar will complement the freshly prepared burritos, tacos, quesadillas and tortas of their menu.
Kansas City, MO – Eat Drink on 44 and Coffee on 44 The restaurant and retail group, 39 Bevco, has purchased the property at 917 West 44th. Street to open two complementary casual concepts for a late fall opening. Menus are being developed but the feel will be family and neighborhood friendly with an open courtyard between them for yard games and seating.
Denver, CO – Puerto Rico 5280 Alex and Diana Rivera will team up to re-create Puerto Rican cuisine with the mid-September opening of this casual eatery at 3109 Federal Blvd. Guest seating will be available for just over 60 with an additional 24 seats at the full service bar. Look for carne frita, pernil and mofongo among traditional menu favorites.
Hudson Falls, NY – Gus’s Place George “Gus” Kamburelis and wife Cindy will open this casual, family-friendly operation sometime this fall at 48 River Street. As it shares the same building as the Venus Diner it will absorb the diner upon opening. With the menu under development the concept will offer live music and shows for their guests.
Greenville, SC – Oak & Honey Introducing what Auro Hotel Group calls a “beverage and food” program they will debut this upscale concept at 200 East Washington Street for a late 2018 or early 2019 opening. Craft cocktails will be their signature complemented by local craft beers and wine with a limited small plates menu for grazing.

It will be located at 15600 North Hayden Road with a planned opening in November. The 10,000 sq. ft. brewery will house a 20 Barrel system focusing on lager style beers with a restaurant and mezzanine.
Pueblo, CO – Lobo’s Tacos and Tequila Restaurant Partners, and cousins, Michael and Tony Colarelli and Deanna Guarienti will open this casual concept to service the local community and especially CSU-Pueblo students when they open this October at 2200 Bonforte Blvd. A full service bar, and table service, will complement their primarily Mexican menu.
Washington, DC – Call Your Mother Deli The team that created Timber Pizza Company is up to new things as they plan to roll out this casual eatery sometime in September at 3301 Georgia Avenue NW. Seating is limited to 18 with a focus on carry out, they’re importing a wood-fired oven from Seattle for the crusty rings filled with various spreads.
Dedham, MA – Horse Thieves Tavern Laurence Wintersteen will partner with Chris Lutes, owner of Miracle of Science and Middlesex Lounge, to open a fine-casual concept on High Street with a planned fall opening. The menu is under wraps as its’ being developed but the space will host 105 guests, private event space and a full service bar.
Las Vegas, NV – Electra Cocktail Club Slated to be a cross between “East Coast Savvy” meets romantic this craft-cocktail bar will sit on the casino floor or the Palazzo Resort Hotel at 3325 S. Las Vegas Blvd with a planned September opening. Barman Sam Ross oversees a cocktail menu focused on rum, Caribbean and tropical drink flavors.
Pittsburgh, PA – 350° Bakery Long-known by area coffee shop devotees the treats from this production bakery were never available in one place until their planned late summer opening at 2427 South 18th. Their entire menu will be offered from early morning through afternoon for dine-in and grab-n-go for their biscuits, scones and hand pies.
